The White-bearded Manakin is a passeriforme of the family Pipridae.
Characteristics
It shows sexual dimorphism. The male is black and white with reddish-orange legs. The female is olive-green.
Food
Breeding
The breeding display is one of the noisiest of the manakin family. The males perform in a lek close to the ground where a court has been prepared. The male makes fast flights back and forth on a pair of saplings while making whistling calls, whirring the wings and making loud snapping noises.
Habits
É localmente comum no estrato inferior e nas bordas de florestas, capoeiras, campinas arbustivas e restingas.
Distribution
Presente na maior parte da Amazônia brasileira e de Alagoas para o sul até Santa Catarina. Encontrada também nos demais países amazônicos e no Paraguai e Argentina.
